On Friday afternoon, shortly before 2 PM, RFC and an engine from Berwyn was dispatched to the 100 block of Conestoga Road for smoke coming from the rear of a house. Additional callers reported the roof on fire and people inside the house. Chief 15 arrived with smoke showing and upgraded the incident to a working fire. This report brought Tower 3 from Paoli and units from Bryn Mawr and Gladwyne Fire Companies. Quint 15 arrived and deployed an 1 3/4" line to the roof area over the front door and the visible fire was quickly knocked. Addition crews searched inside and found no additional fire or occupants. The LM fire companies were recalled. Tower 3 was used to overhaul the area. Radnor Township PD detectives and the Fire Marshal arrived and began the investigation. All fire units cleared the scene in a little over an hour.
