The past few drills concentrated on an electric vehicle blanket, a Fast Board and a review of the capabilities of ATV 15.
The electric vehicle blanket is used to contain the fire and isolate it from any exposures. Members became familiar with the proper method to deploy the electric vehicle blanket by tossing it over a vehicle and getting some tips on what it is capable of during a fire.
The Fast Board was introduced by a manufacturer rep inside the firehouse. The Fast Board is used to remove injured civilians or firefighters from inside structures. After the intro, members took the board to the school administration building and practiced moving firefighters up and down the exterior fire escape.
Lastly, members went over the various uses of ATV 15, including the stokes basket, winch and the anchor points which can be used during an extrication of a person. Patient packaging was discussed and practiced. Members finished the drill by refreshing their driving skills through an obstacle course.
