New fire truck arrives at Radnor Fire Company

WAYNE, PA - The Radnor Fire Company received a new vehicle last week. Tac 15 is a 2020 Ford F-550 Pierce Mini Pumper with a 1,000 gallons per minute Waterous pump. It has seating for 4 firefighters and has 4 wheel drive capability. This unit replaced a 1999 fire truck that was sold to the Chester Township Fire Company.

Tac 15 holds 280 gallons of water and 20 gallons of class A foam. It also carries 1,000 feet of 3 inch supply line, 400 feet of 1.75 inch attack line,150 feet of 2.5 inch hose and 200 feet of 1 inch booster hose.

Tac 15 is equipped with light rescue equipment, including a Holmatro cutter/ spreader and cribbing. Also included are chain saws, oil dry, portable lighting, gas meter, forcible entry equipment, rope rescue equipment, EMS equipment and self-contained breathing apparatus.

The Tac is expected to be placed in service in the next few weeks, after installation of radio equipment and training for the engineers and drivers.
