Friday, October 16, 2009 - On October 15, 2009 at 19:01 hours the box assignment was struck for the area of Upper Gulph Rd and King of Prussia Rd. 15-9 (Kelly) marked up on radio and was notified of a fireplace fire. While enroute to an unrelated EMS call, 15-7 passed the area and notified 15-9 of heavy smoke in the intersection. 15-9 arrived to find a 300 year old historic house with a basement fully involved. 15-3 with 15-9B and 15-12 aboard led off with a 2 1/2 blitz. Ladder-15 arrived quickly thereafter and deployed numerous ground ladders. As the first in crew made entry to the basement through an exterior access, part of the 1st floor collapsed initiating the evacuation procedure. All crews safely exited the building without incident. Mutual aid came from all three counties as the incident location sits near the border of Delaware, Chester and Montgomery Counties. Thanks to all the companies who spent the cold windy night with us.
