On September 24, 2009 at 13:19 hours the local box street assignment was dispatched to the area of N. Wayne Ave and Woodsworth Court. 15-9 (Kelly) and a full crew were at the station eating lunch. Crews immediately saw from the station, the header to the north. 15-9 arrived to find a 5 car, 2 story, 40x25 garage fully invovled. Orders were given for an exterior operation. Ladder-15 pulled into the property and setup its ladder pipe for operation. Due to the limited water supply in the Wayne area, only handlines were used to knockdown the fire. SD15 being operated by 15-10 (Felske) pulled up and boosted pressure. In the midst of knocking down the bulk of the fire a firefighter fell from a ground ladder. He was transported to CCMC via 313-7. He is in stable condition and being admitted for further evaluation. Crews made entry and knocked a number of hot spots. Thanks to all who helped today including Squad-47 who covered our station.
